Worlds: Galligan Out; Pollock, Ciobanu for Marathon

Rose-Anne Galligan of Newbridge AC is out of the World Championships in Moscow after finishing  seventh in heat two of the 800m. Galligan’s  time of 2:02.05 was well off her Irish record. Paul Pollock is Ireland’s remaining competitor – he goes in Saturday’s marathon, along with Sergiu Ciobanu of Clonliffe Harriers who is competing for his native Moldova.
