Records fall at Ton le Gaoithe Night of Sprints

Six stadium records fell  at the Ton le Gaoithe – Night of Sprints meet in Waterford on Tuesday night. They were:

100m women: Kelly Proper 11.54 +1.2
100m men: Jonathan BrowIMG_6419ning 10.59 +1.3
110mh: Ben Reynolds 13.62 +0.2
200m women: Kelly Proper 23.35 +1.1
200m men: Brian Gregan 21.26 +2.0
HJ men: Barry Pender 2.13m

In the javelin,  there was a 46.50m throw from national champion Anita White of DSD,  while Rory Gunning threw 59.83  and Jaco Oosthuysen 59.12.

An Irish youths 4x100m squad improved the national record to 41.68m. In the faster of the two 110m hurdles races, Ben Reynolds of North Down was the winner in 13.62 secs; Gerard O’Donnell of Carrick-on-Shannon was second in 13.87 secs.  There nine 100m races; first five and then four.

200m: 1 Kelly Proper (Ferrybank) 23.25, 2 Catherine McManus (DCH) 24.15, 3 Sarah McCarthy (Mid-Sutton) 24.63, 4 Sophie Becker (St Joseph’s, jun) 24.68, 5 Sinead Denny (DSD) 24.71, 6  Ciara McCallion (Clonliffe) 24.94.

Javelin: 1 Anita White (DSD) 46.50, 2 Grace Casey (Eire Og Corra Choill AC) 38.31, 3 Laura Dolan (Ferbane) 33.97. High jump: 1 Emily Rogers (St Peter’s) 1.65, 2 Sorcha Murphy (Ferrybank) 1.60.

Men – 110m hurdlers Race 2 (+0.2): 1 Ben Reynolds (N Down) 13.62, 2 Ger O’Donnell (C-on-Shannon) 13.87, 3 Andrew Creaner (Annalee) 15.52.

100m – Race 1 (+0.5): 1 Adam McMullen (Crusaders) 1.066, 2 Richard Morrissey (Crusaders) 10.79, 3 Kiern Elliott (N Sligo) 10.82, 4 Jonathan Browning (Ballymean & Antrim) 10.82. Race 2 (+1.3): 1 Browning 10.59, 2 Elliott 10.66, 3 McMullen 10.72, 4 Keith Pike (Clonliffe) 10.86

200m (+2.0) : 1 Brian Gregan (Clonliffe) 21.26, 2 Eanna Madden 21.47,3 Kieran Elliott (N Sligo) 21.47.
