Over 700 at schools C-C. Corbally and Ryan win Twilight 5km

Over 700 young athletes turned out for the inaugural Dublin Schools Minor and Junior Open Cross-Country held on a perfect autumn’s morning in the Phoenix Park.

Later in the evening, Robert Corbally and Meghan Ryan were the winners of the Twilight 5km Team Challenge in Sandyford Industrial Estate organised by DSD.

Dublin Schools Minor and Junior Open Cross-Country, Phoenix Park

Girls – Minor (1500m): 1 Sophie Quinn (Mt Sackville, 2 Christine Lorcain (Col Iosagain), 3 Ciara Dunne (Loreto Dalkey), 4 Clare O’Connor (St Dominic’s Cabra) , 5 Hannah Keogh (Mt Sackville). Teams – 1 Mount Sackville 22, 2 Col Iosagain 52, 3 Loreto Dalkey 80.

Junior (1800m): 1 Eimear Maher (Mt Anville), 2 Saoirse Ni Bhriain (Col Iosagain), 3 Vivian McCann (St Joseph’s Lucan 4 Alex Corr ( St Dominic’s Cabra), 5 Ann Neary ( Mt Anville). Teams – 1 St Dominic’s Cabra 28, 2 Mount Anville 35, 3 King’s Hospital 60.

Boys – Minor (1500m): 1 Joe Fogarty (St Declan’s Cabra), 2 Declan O’Meara (Col na Phiarsaigh), 3 James Bolton (Belvedere), 4 Dara Donoghue Lucan CC), 5 James O’Brien (Oatlands). Teams – 1 Belvedere 56, 2 Ard Scoil Ris 58, 3 King’s Hospital 103.

Junior (2000m): 1 Lorcan Clerkin (Col Eoin), 2 Adam Condon (Ard Scoil Ris), 3 Cian O’Sullivan ( CBC Monsktown), 4 Finn Woodger (Castleknock CC), 5 Jonah Maguire (Gonzaga). Teams – 1 Castleknock CC 28, 2 CBC Monkstown 58, 3 Templeogue College 90.
