Sittuk Wins Navan 6km; Fagan Best at Mullingar League. Plus Graded No 2

LIN_0991Just five days after winning the Limerick Marathon, Raheny’s Freddy Keron Sittuk was pushed hard at the Navan 6km,  just outlasting Brian McCluckey of North East Runners for victory in 19 mins 3 secs.  A close third and first over 50 was Mick Traynor of Raheny, First woman was Caitirona O’Brien of Bohermeen. First woman over 50 was Mary Watters of organising club Navan.

MARTIN FAGAN was back in action after the Zurich Marathon last month, winning the opening round of the annual  Mullingar Pat Finnerty League in  14 mins 47  secs.  Charlotte Kearney of Donadea was first woman.

EOIN DOHERTY OF Tallaght and Sarah Murray of Fingallians produced the fastest times for the 100m at the second Dublin Graded League, held in Tallaght.  In the men’s 3000m,  which had 33 entries overall, Pierre Murchan of DCH  clocked a time of 8:37.93 to beat Sligo’s Emmet Dunleavy.  Isabel Carron of Skerries won the women’s race in 10:15.81.
