Mick Clohisey’s time of 23 mins 47 secs put him well clear of the field at the Irish Runner 5-Mile in Dublin’s Phoenix Park. Clonmel’s Kevin Maunsell was second in 24 mins 30 secs, with Gary Thornton of GCH third and first M35. Sarah Mulligan of DSD was first woman in 27 mins 55 secs.
TOM HOGAN AND PAULINE CURLEY (6th overall) won the marathon at the WLR FM Viking Marathon, Half Marathon and Quarter Marathon in Waterford city. Freddy Keron Sittuk of Raheny won the half marathon and Alan O’Shea the quarter marathon.
