We had two men’s teams – or rather one and three-quarters- for the National Road Relays in Raheny. Brendan, Alan and Rob were the three missing a fourth; initially Alan opted to run two legs(he did the mile leg in 4.52; Brendan clocked 11.18 for the initial two-mile leg) ), but as Rob came in after the end of this three miles, indicated that he wasn’t going to head out again. So Rob kept on running – five miles in all. Hard man! The first team of Gar (9.58 for 2 miles), Simon (5.09 mile), Eugene (14.50 for 3 miles) and Eoin (10.53 for 2 miles) were eight of 16 teams (or 18 if you include second teams from both Rathfarnham and ourselves who were incomplete).
