UCD’s Ciara Everard won the 1500m at the second Dublin Graded Track and Field meet of the season in Santry in a new personal best time of 4 mins 25 secs – 11 seconds off her previous best. She runs her first 800m of the season in Sardinia on June 1.
In the women’s hammer, Alice Akers of Marian threw 54.08, while Shauna Cannon of Bros Pearse won the fastest of four women’s 200m races. A total of seven men’s 200m races were held with Zak Irwin from Sligo the fastest in 21.92, closely followed by Clonliffe’s Chris Russell.
Winning the men’s 1500m A race was Andrew Connick of Abbey Striders in 3:54.21. First home of only seven in the 10,000m was Ballina’s Hugh Armstrong. In the pole vault, an encouraging total of 17, including three women, turned out.
