Paul Byrne of St Abban’s finished second in the 400m hurdles at the Meeting Arcobolla in Boissan, Italy yesterday. Byrne’s time of 51.33 secs was not far off the 51.20 personal best he ran in Leixlip a few weeks ago.

, Slovania, Kerry O’Flaherty of Newcastle AC ran 9 mins 56 secs to finish third in the women’s steeplechase. Leevale’s Michelle Finn was fourth in 10:04.51. Bezuayehu Mohamed, a 19-year-old Ethiopian, won the race in 9:50.19.
At the BMC Gold Standard Meet in Stretford on Tuesday, Anthony Lieghio of Tallaght won the 1500m A race in 3:47.91. In the 800m A race, Raheny’s Kieran Kelly ran a PB 1:49.22 for second place, with his U20 clubmate Cillian Kirwan third in 1:50.80. In the B race, Garry Campbell, another U20 athlete, was third in 1:52.72, with Ballmena’s Steven Morrow fifth in 1:53.56.
MARIA MCCAMBRIDGE ran two 3000m races at the sixth Dublin Graded meet in Tallaght. In the women’s 3000m, she finished first in 9:41.52, while in the men’s C race, she finished second in 9:22.78. Tempo training!
