Maria McCambridge 
was first woman at the Airtricity Frank Duffy 10-mile , finishing in 56 mins 28 secs for her fourth victory in this race and her third in this year’s Airtricity Dublin Road Race Series.
Her performance proved that she has recovered from the ordeal of the marathon at the World Championships, where she was forced to drop out along with about a third of the field. McCambridge is a member of the Marathon Mission, supported by the Airtricity Dublin Marathon.
McCambridge finished well clear of the chasers, led by her old rival Siobhan O’Doherty of Borrisokane in 59.49 and Raheny’s Eilish Kelly a close third. In fourth place was Scottish supervet Fiona Matheson, who was also first master and first over 50.
Winner of the race was Matt Gunby of Woodford Green Essex Ladies, who is a former full-time triathlete turned club athlete (thanks Malcolm McCausland!). He finished in 49 mins 29 secs – faster that his time of 50:11 for second place in the same race last year. Gunby was pushed hard by John Lilly, who finished 14 seconds adrift for second place. Third and first of the home crew was Rathfarnham and Marathon Mission’s Sean Hehir in 49 mins 48 secs. Second of the locals was Dunshaughlin’s Robbie Matthews in sixth place, with Paddy Hamilton seventh and third Irish.
* West Waterford’s Philip Harty was a runaway winner of the annual Rockford Rood Tiles 4-Mile, organised by Tinryland AC near Carlow. Harty’s time of 29 mins 49 secs put well over a minute clear of St LOT’s Brian Kirwan in second place. Raheny’s Annette Kealy was first woman in 22:53.
* Leevale’s Lizzie Lee set a new course races of 27 mins 33 secs at the Ballycotton 5-Mile last Thursday – the final race in the annual Ballycotton 5-Mile Series. Sean McGrath won the men’s race in 25:51 was also series winner; Eagle’s Maura Regan was best overall of the women.
