Ganiel 5th Hague "Half"; plus Sunday Results (ongoing)

Gladys Ganiel O’Neill ran a time of 75 mins 51 to finish fifth woman at  the Hague Half Marathon –  the perfect birthday present for the Belfast resident, who turns 36 today. Winner was Laurane Picoche of France in 71 mins 45 secs. 
* SBR’s Tom Hogan clocked a good time of 15 mins 42 secs to win the Carlow 5km. Tinryland veteran Pat Byrne was a runaway winner of the 10km, with Teresa Agar of St Abban’s first woman. 
* At the British Masters Indoors at Lee Valley,  Joe Gough of West Waterford won the M60 800m in  a new European record of 2:14.49 – perfect preparation for next weekend’s European Indoors in San Sebastien, Spain. Brendan Leahy of Waterford AC was 2nd in the M35 60m in a new PB, while Tom O’Brien, also Waterford, soared over 1.72 – an Irish M45 record)  to finish 2nd in the high jump. Ronan Kearns  of Rathfarnham WSAF, competing  in his first masters’ competition,  finished 3rd in the M35 800m. DSD’s Lucy Moore won both the W55 triple jump and discus. Full Irish result below.
* Ian Conroy of Raheny Shamrock was first home at the IMRA Spring League race at Kilmashogue. 
* James McCarthy of East Cork and Leevale’s Lizzie Lee were the senior winners at the Munster Road Running Championships in Newtownshandrum.
