Boys in Bahrain

The boys are back from Bahrain, where they spent a night, making the most of a need to exit the country and then return for visa reasons. Had I not been upgraded, I would have had to do the same, since I will have been three continuous months here on September 7, apparently.

We pay 50 riyals each month to have a new stamp put in our passport, though the dates seem very erratic – sometimes only for 21 days. Anyway, once you’ve had three of them you have to leave and most people make the 15 minute flip to Bahrain.

Bahrain sounds smaller and seedier – apart from a few women at the airport, almost all the women the lads saw were prostitutes. They were staying in a hotel and had the good fortune to hear a good band so listened to the first set and then stuck around for the second, which ended after 2am. During them time there was constant action in the bar, with some men not even bothering to buy a drink. The connection to Kuwait by a giant causeway obviously means they have lots of customers from the men on the oil rigs The women appeared to be Thai.
Here in Doha, there are rumours of Filipino women in the Ramada, though whether they charge I’m not sure. A lot of the working women here are Russian; if anyone calls you a Russian, you can guess what they are thinking and rightfully take umbrage.
