Day 1 – Friday
8.45 – Women’s 400m heats.
Ht 1, 4 Sinead Denny 54.20 – lane 1; tough.
Ht 5, 3 Phil Healy 54.80 – Phil unlucky to be pipped for the second qualifying place in a rough heat, with a fall and a disqualification (later reinstated).
9.20 – Men’s 400m
Ht 2, 2 Brian Gregan 47.62 (Q) – Fighting run by Brian; winner Maslak looked imperious.
10.35 – Men’s 800m heats
Ht 2, 5 Zak Curran 1:50.87 – Curran pipped on the line for fourth by Moya.
15.45 – Men’s 60m hurdles semi-finals (3)
SF 1, 6 Ben Reynolds 7.81 secs. Two disqualifications; messy.
16.05 – Women’s 1500m heats
Ht 2, 4 Ciara Mageean 4:12.81. A lot of bunching; Ciara’s time enough to give her one of three fastest losers places in the final.
Ht 3, 6 Kerry O’Flaherty 4:23.82.
17.05 – Men’s 400m SF
SF 1, 6 Brian Gregan 48.08 secs.
17.25 – Men’s 3000m heats
Ht 2, Tom Cotter disq. A disaster for Tom, who seemed to clip the heel of the Swedish athlete in front of him who toppled over.
18.15 – Men’s 1500m heats
Ht 2, 7 John Travers 3:59.76. Another technical problem. JT slowed down along with Alcala at the sound of a gun just after the start. Both reinstated after appeals, which is only fair given the clear and obvious problems with the electronic timing all day.
Day 2 – Saturday
8.45 – Women’s 60m heats
Ht 3, 4 Ciara Neville 7.44 secs. Well done Ciara! Slowesh start, but held her own
Ht 5, 4 Phil Healy 7.39 secs. Confident run by Healy.
18.45 – Women’s 1500m final
Ciara Mageean, dnf (injured). Fab run by Laura Muir in 4:02.20 – a European indoor record; also breaking Kelly Holmes’ British record.
19.18 – Men’s 1500m final
11 John Travers 3:53.11. Alcala was 4th
Day 3 – Sunday
15.00 – Women’s 60m
SF 1, 8 Ciara Neville 7.49 secs
SF 2, 6 Phil Healy 7.40
