World Indoors: Galligan runs 4:16.84

Rose Anne Galligan of Newbridge  finished 9th in the opening heat of the women’s 1500m at the World Indoors in Portland, Oregon. Her time of 4:16.84 was well off the personal best 4:11.07 she ran last month.  Galligan  heads for  Albuquerque on Monday for a month of altitude training in preparation for an attack on the Olympic 800m qualification mark of 2:01.50.

The only other Irish competitor n Portland is Joe Gough of West Waterford who goes in tomorrow’s M50 800m.
