Clonliffe’s Sergiu Ciobanu – or Sergiu Eireannach in the race results! – ran 31 mins 12 secs in a 10km in Casablanca. Some experience, as he says on his Facebook.
“This is Morocco they say. Ran 31:12min for the Casablanca 10km; very hot and humid, but this wasn’t the worst. The race started while 30-40 athletes were on their way to the start line so they just turned around and started to race already having a head start of 60-80m; media cars and trucks stuck in the middle of the road. Some experience and nice to meet athletes that paced the biggest marathons in the world like London and Berlin.”
JOHN TRAVERS of Donore won a Street Mile organised by Inishowen AC. Travers was a clear winner in 4 mins 9 secs; Danny Mooney 4:21 and Ruairi Finnegan 4:22 were second and third.
