Running in the Park

Yes, I’m back! Not quite sure how I did it, but it involved downloading Firefox on to my iBook. Suddenly the blog appeared again as I wanted it, and the buttons allowing me to post new entries re-emerged at the top of the page.
These pictures are from the adidas Dublin Half Marathon in the Phoenix Park last Saturday, where Mike was our first Crusader, followed by Miriam, Emma, Mary and a very relieved Dee. Also running was our hill running friend Cormac, who can be spotted behind two larger runners; he and Mike were together at this point…The pics are of Mike, Emma, Cormac and Dee.
Have been back in Dublin for over three weeks now and Qatar is fading into a distant memory. What I have taken from my sojourn is a new sympathy for Muslims and the way they are portrayed as single-minded fanatics in virtually all the Western media. The people I met in Qatar were human beings first and Muslims second; maybe that’s not how the mullahs like to see it, but
that’s how I found them. In other words, they were ordinary people going about their business, just like you and me.
