Record numbers at AXA Raheny 5, where Mark Christie and Linda Byrne were clear winners; course records for Sean Hehir and Maria McCambridge in Dungarvan ’10’. Abroad, Joe Sweeney was fourth in a gruelling 11.4km mudfest at St Sebastian, Spain. 
Byrne and Sweeney will lead the Dundum South Dublin squad competing in all four races (senior and junior men and women) at European Clubs Cross-Country in Spain next Sunday. Also travelling is national masters champion Peter Matthews, which means he can’t defend his title in Lough Key on Sunday.
