Emmett Jennings and Orla Drumm were the winners of the annual Irish Prison Services BHAA 5km trail race held in Dublin’s Phoenix Park. Out in force were members of the Bank of Ireland running club and they cleaned up in the team categories. They were1st and 3rd in men’s grade A as well as winning grade C and finishing second in grade 2. They also won the women’s team category.
Winning grade D was a wonderfully mixed team from Enterprise Ireland – the youthful Loughlin Campion was third overall in the race; his team mates Albert Eakins and PJ Lonergan were third in the over 65 and the over 70 ages groups respectively.
The BHAA is currently billing itself as the original “corporate challenge”; and that’s exactly what it is. It’s run by runners for runners and welcomes all standards and all ages. If you haven’t discovered BHAA running yet, why not give it a go? Next race is the Dublin City Council 5km at Irishtown on Wednesday July 15 (7.30pm). Register online at www.bhaa.ie.
LUKE FORDE and Sinead Whitelaw were the winners of the Clonee 10km in Co Meath.
