Make love (not)

THERE is a noticeable rise in the number of sex-related crimes in this country, a report in an Arabic daily here said, with the item thne picked up by both English-language papers
The report said one can rarely find a session of the criminal court that did not deal with such a case.
According to the paper, expatriates, and housemaids in particular, are the main culprits for this rising trend in such crimes ( so locals have absolutely no sex drive?).
A psychiatrist, Dr TS, said that one of the first crimes committed by a human being was a sex-related crime (this is sleeping with someone outside marriage, folks).
“Sexual instinct is part of human nature everywhere and in all ages,” Dr S said. “The liberal societies are more vulnerable to such crimes as has been the case with the Western societies.”
Asked about the rise in the number of adultery cases involving housemaids, he said: “Housemaids live as a member of the family even though they are technically not. This makes it easier for a male member of the family to have an affair with the housemaid (and of course, it is all her fault).”
He said the existence of housemaids in Arab societies should be reconsidered.
Another psychiatrist, Dr SG (a woman), said that priority should be given to married housemaids who were accompanied by their husbands. “If the housemaid came along with her husband, there would be protection for all parties,” Dr G said stressing that the way the maids live with families should be reconsidered.
Asked about the suggestion of setting up a separate city for bachelors (Don’t know what this means) , she hailed it as a good idea and said it would be helpful for families. “However, this would cause a different type of social disturbance as it will increase the curiosity of the bachelors and create peeping Toms”.
She called for studying the social status of the expatriates to check the possibility of allowing more of them to bring in their wives. “For social and psychological reasons, it is recommended for men to bring their wives to live with them,” she said.
A Qatari lawyer, JN put the blame for such crimes on bachelor expatriates.
“Some countries make it mandatory for every married man to bring his wife to the country in which he would live,”, he said, adding that the case was totally different in this country.
“The committee responsible for clearing family visas stipulates that one has to earn a minimum salary of around Eu850 a month to be eligible for bringing in their wives,” he said.
He appealed to charities and the government to launch projects to help young local people get married(now there’s a drastic solution to sex ‘crimes’!).
