IMG_4247Raheny’s Mick Clohisey  was a comfortable winner of today’s SSE Airtricity Fingal 10km in Swords. Clohisey, who will run the marathon at the Rio Olympics in a few weeks time, was winning for a second year. His time of 30 mins  24 secs gave him a 21 seconds margin over DSD’s Brandon Hargreaves who finished in 30:46. Kilkenny veteran Brian Maher was third in 31:02.

Winner of the women’s race was Laura Graham of Mourne Runners who ran a personal best of 35 minutes, 26 seconds to finished five seconds clear of  Catherina McKiernan; Ciara Hickey of Bros Pearse was third in 35:52.  Last October, Graham, a 30-year-old mother of four, took bronze in the National Marathon in Dublin. A surprise finisher in the race was former Dublin Marathon winner Christine Kennedy, who’s  back running after a freak accident a year ago. Kennedy, originally from Galway, moved to London from her long-time base in California last November. On only three weeks training, she
