Angela Sets Parkrun Record

Angela McCann from Clonmel set a new women’s course record of 18 mins 17 secs  when she turned up for this morning’s Parkrun 5km in Malahide Castle. Moves are afoot for a second Dublin Parkrun – likely venue Marlay. Can’t come soon enough!
* Just out is the Irish Runner  Yearbook for 2013, with Fionnuala Britton and our golden  girls from Budapest gracing the cover. An ideal stocking  filler!
*With the new indoor arena at Athlone IT due to open early in the New Year, the calendar has seen quite a bit of re-jigging. The Masters and Junior/U23 Championships originally scheduled for January 19/20  now take place on February 9/10. This is so the facility can be tested and means that the opening event in the arena will be the  Combined Event Championships on January 26 followed by the Open Indoor Games a day later on January 27. In February, the Woodie’s DIY Senior Indoors shift to  February 16/17 to ensure TV coverage.
