An escaped monkey caused a three-mile tailback on the N11 near Kilmacanogue in Co Wicklow on Thursday morning.
Gina, a three-year-old capuchin monkey is one of several monkeys kept as pets in the nearby Copsewood Aviaries. Astonished motorists spotted her sitting in a state of total disorientation beside the busy dual carriageway. One man jumped out of his jeep and gave the monkey in distress a banana.
Soon her owner, armed with a net, had caught his wandering pet. After a protein lunch and a bit of TLC, she was happily settling back into her home with her brother.

This monkey escaped from a zoo in Ireland. It was not a pet. Cute little monkey though.
According the newspapers, he belongs to a local man in Kilmac. Certainly not from a zoo, though also not a pet.
