Lurking in and around every large and usually stinking metal bin in this town, you will find a cat or three – completely wild and tolerated because they do valuable work in controlling the population of rats.
A recent campaign had the cats taken off the streets for neutering and then returned to their usual part of town where they could continue to terrorise mice and rats.
This group of kittens hides in the rocks near the harbour. Two older cats were lounging in the late evening sun and watching their offspring playing in the rocks.
The one at the bottom of the picture (left) was smaller than the others and had huge ears – the runt ot the litter most likely. Or a strange cross with big-eared desert rats.
