Thanks to Cliona Foley in the Irish Independent for digging outthsi info on the Irishtown Track; there had been some disturbing rumours going about.
From today’s Irish Independent:
Dublin City Council has told the Irish Independent that the completion of the resurfacing of the track in Irishtown will go ahead in April by the same company that has undertaken the work to date.
The track was taken up last August but problems with some of the base layers meant it was a bigger job than originally foreseen and it was not finished by the time the weather changed.
It needs a spell of completely dry weather to finish it and a spokesman for the local authority said: “Dublin City Council has a contract in place and expects it to be completed.
“The work is expected to recommence in April. It is difficult to say at this stage when it will finish but the track will be open to the public again within a few weeks of completion.”
