Did a runner today; looking at tiles for bathroom and kitchen areas. Girder now in kitchen and floor being made level. Window sills in and walls getting prepared for plastering. Next step is the outside insulation, which will need good weather.

Wall in kitchen gone!

Yesterday, the water was cut off from my “scullery”‘ – the room that will become the new kitchen. So no clothes washing for a month or so. Today they were laying the floor to the new part; the ceiling of the scullery will be next to go.

Yes – the builders’ holiday period is over and work recommenced on Tuesday August 3. Builders’ hols begin today, so I get a two-week break after four week (20 days) of work on the house. A few mysteries to solve like where the first and then the second dust pan and bush went. Plus there’s the missing tea-spoons, including one of my favourites.
