Did a runner today; looking at tiles for bathroom and kitchen areas. Girder now in kitchen and floor being made level. Window sills in and walls getting prepared for plastering. Next step is the outside insulation, which will need good weather.

Wall in kitchen gone!
The new kitchen on ground floor with wall gone. Back view, with windows and velux in attic. New office/music room looking towards garden(above) and to street (below).Back from a few days in Kerry and what a transformation! Windows in, office wired etc, back wall knocked out, velux in attic.
A quiet enough start to the day and then went out to look at bathroom fittings in Chadwicks. Yes, I know – what an exciting life I lead! When I came back the lads had started raising the ceiling of the ex-“scullery” (see below for what it looked like). The noise was deafening – as […]

Builders’ hols begin today, so I get a two-week break after four week (20 days) of work on the house. A few mysteries to solve like where the first and then the second dust pan and bush went. Plus there’s the missing tea-spoons, including one of my favourites.
You can now buy my pics in all sorts of ways (mugs, t-shirts, even cushions..) at www.lindie.zenfolio.com.
View from front.Ceiling of extension takes shapeView from back; note builder’s private toilet!Miserable day; cold, damp, dreary. I hear a shocking bang from the direction of the bathroom. I run out of office to invetigate and see a rueful face smiling at me through a new-born hole. It’s now patched up (see above).
Poured rain all Friday and Saturday and inevitably, I have had leaks from the exposed roof on to the landing below.Builder’s holidays next week so will get a two-week break – but with the scaffolding all around my house making it very vulnerable, won’t be straying far…
